Directions in the I129f ask for form 325a.  I'm wondering if form 325 is acceptable.

Also, in the case of a lady that has no contact with a mother who abandoned her and her father soon after birth, is a step mother acceptable to use for the bio info on the 325?

Thanks,

b.

As to using a different form than the one specified in the directions, what possible benefit would outweigh the increased probability that you will get a request for additional information from the Service Center, which will cost you several weeks' delay?  Last time I looked, the G325A was downloadable from the BCIS site, so the cost of following the instructions exactly is fairly low.  You can get her to fill one out, but also get her to sign an extra blank one in case you need to revise/rewrite it after reviewing all of the questions/instructions.

BTW, I think the "do exactly what the instructions say" philosophy applies to filling out the forms as well.  If you don't know where her birth mother lives, say "unknown--last seen xx years ago".  If you have never been married before, don't put N/A under a question about former spouses, write "none".

Best of luck to you,

Steve M.

I would think she will need info on the person shown on her birth cert. as being her mother. You can also attach a sheet giving a full explanation of the situation and info on step mother just to be safe.
