... in response to I post too much...yea I know...I'll stop..., posted by wsbill on Jul 20, 2003Thank you "wsbill." We all need to reflect on the TRUE cost of our nation's adventure.
One would hope that g w will read it but since he does not even read his CIA intell. reports it is doubtful he will ever get to this.
I keep asking myself, why?
No WMDs, no al qaeda connection, and no Saddam even, why then were hundreds of "coalition soldiers," killed or maimed. Why did thousands of Iraqis, mostly civilians, suffer the same fate. Why are they all still being killed and maimed.
Perhaps we can tell from documents recently released by vp cheney's Energy Task Force. They were released due to a law suit pursued by Judicial Watch. Judicial Watch is a non profit, non partisan self described "watch dog," organization that tries to keep Gov't. open to public scrutiny. Their motto is: "Because No One Is Above The Law."
The documents include maps showing all of Iraq's oil fields, known reserves, and oil production facilities and lists of foreign oil companies and governments who had deals with Iraq for oil entitled, "Foreign Suiters of Iraqi Oilfield Contracts." The documents are dated March 2001, seven months before 9/11.
Copies of the originals can be viewed on Judicial Watch's web page:

Was our national security really threatened or was the real motive for this war somthing nefarious? At first I believed that this war was just an act of misguided revenge. An unfortunate irrational response to the terrible tragedy of 9/11. Now I must wonder if 9/11 provided an opportunity for something that was planned long in advance, just waiting for the right "trigger."
I truly hope I am wrong.
