Finally went to check out Brighton Beach,New York this past weekend with my wife (it's actually Coney Island, part of Brooklyn,N.Y.).

Wow!!!Felt like I was in Moscow or someplace comprible!!!Thousands of beautiful Russian,Ukrainien, etc.ladies walking around wagging their beautiful thin barely clothed bra-less bodies...Have to say, they put American woman to "shame" appearence-wise...Maybe it's their diets or hardworking ethnics but guaranteed...Once there, you'll definitely realise you are not in just another American city but rather someplace very, very different and off the American beaten path...

Everybody there is Russian (Actually mostly Jewish/Russian...),most all there speak primarily Russian and English except for the old timers because they don't "have" to learn English to live there and all the store signs are in both Russian and English.Anything you could imagine from Russia or it's former C.I.S. parts could be found right there in the many, many stores and "outdoor bazzar-type" markets there.Brighton Beach Ave.is pretty long stretch and the whole island (Coney island) around Brighton Beach area is predominantly Russian.

Although New York has a flavor all it's own, this area is the closest thing I have ever seen to Russia right here in America.I really didn't have time to mingle and speak with the locals because I was with the wife and little 18 month old but I'd bet a night out in town for a single guy would probably prove to be quite interesting...I don't know what percentage of the people are permanent residents and what percentage are just visiting but I'd put the total russian population there at well over 100,000.I found it quite fasinating...

My wife went around the shops and markets and stocked up on buckwheat, books,Russian video-movies and some other things that are not quite so available here in USA.She said that things there definetly were not very cheap and she found everything comprible to American prices...The place is really not geared for tourism...We found only 1 old run-down expensive hotel unless you want to backtrack 20 miles or so toward the airports. However, resturants and night-clubs were plentiful and abundant for all international cultures...

All in all....Very interesting place to visit. My best guess is that an American man looking to meet a Russian/Ukrainien lady that speaks english would be very, very good there...I'd reccomend it to anyone interested in learning something about Russian people or wishing to meet one fine lady...

Closest thing to Russia in America is right on.  My Russian teacher insists I go down there and hang out to meet Russian girls etc.  I just get so busy at work and in my life.  As far as most being Jewish - a good deal are, but a tremendous amount of Russians who were not Jewish said they were just to get out.  Another percent had jewish blood and used it to get out ie. one grandfather or great grandfather /  greatgrandmother etc.  So, the area really has a Russian flavor and not an Israeli flavor.

and take a stroll down to the waters edge.  There are some real beauties down there, but they're outnumbered by the extra-large ones.  4 to 1.

Wow, do I agree!  In fact, I was there this past Sunday afternoon (we had some dinner with my ex and my stepson) at Tatiana's on the boardwalk.  Except for a few very young stunners, most of the women were fat.  Lots of really fat men too.  Even my ex-wife was making some comments about it.

Much better looking women down at Long Beach Island last week!

It is quite a place for sure!!

Didn't you notice that there was NOT much of an age difference between couples, though? Under 30 year olds. The chances of some guy in his 40's hooking up with any fine ladies in their mid 20's is silm to none. Those girls already know their way around, if you know what I mean Smiley

Is "every" guy looking for arm-candy and a 20 year "younger" difference???I got to agree...I don't think it will happen so easily "inside" USA...

Although,I do find the domestic "family" nature and committment of a RW to far outweigh AW in general...RW are definitely family oriented people...

I'm sure there are all different types if you look...
That's why it is so important to meet them in their home enviroment and meet their families to learn what kind of upbringing they have...Probably 99% of the way they live and act reflects on what they learned growing up...I suppose that applys "even" if they are "now" living in USA.People don't change very much after they pass teens...

In fact,I even saw some "older" ladies that I would not of thought twice about...Maybe they were the part that were  new or recent arrivals Huh Slim, very shapely,made-up like they were going to an event...Very "exotic" and un-American looking...

Rick,
This post is not meant as a slam on Russian women (or foreign-born women from any country for that matter), but my personal experiences and observations have been that there is often a strong change in attitudes in the women after their arrivals.  My soon-to-be ex-wife comes from a small, very conservative republic of the FSU, and comes from a very solid famiy background.  I have no doubt that she is a very good and decent person at heart.  But she has definately changed for the worse after living here - she became much more materialistic and, candidly, she went a little wild with the temptations and freedoms afforded her here.  Almost like a second adolescence.  We have reconciled into a big brother/little sister friendship type of relationship now, but I am certain that we would have been great together if we were not living in this culture.  And because I met her here, I had the opportunity to get to know her much better and longer than the typical "MOB" long-distance courtship.  (BTW, there is 13 years age difference, and my ex is quite beautiful - which was largely the source of the problems.)

I know several other men who have married foreign-born ladies and have similar experiences.  Although I continue to find the exotic beauty and cultural differences of these ladies extremely attractive, I now believe that the adjustment problems that may arise after her arrival cannot be predicted with any degree of certainty.
