OK guys, a little help, please.  Looking for a deal on airfare from San Diego to Moscow, leaving the end of the month and returning in late August.  Anyone?  Thanks in advance.

Ken...
Just for curiosity's sake...

Run a search on "Aerosvit".They have major offices in Moscow,Kiev etc. They do all the booking (bookkeeping and reservations)for Russian Aeroflot Airlines.
Last time I called and priced Aeroflot out of Aeroflot's New York office,r/trip to Moscow from USA and for some domestic r/trip travel "inside" russia.N.Y office gave me a price almost $300.00 more than the Aerosvit's online reservations price for the same flights and some flights that Aeroflot N.Y. were saying were unavailable were showing as "available" on Aerosvit's online registeration.

So...I made the online reservation with Aerosvit(they hold the reservations for 3 days)...(only problem Aerosvit only accepts payments in cash at their offices.Don't accept credit cards)(no offices here in USA)...

So then,I called Aeroflot back in New York, gave them the reservation numbers from Aerosvit I had made online and asked N.Y.Aeroflot if they'd accept payment for my Aerosvit reservations. The $300.00 lesser rate than N.Y quoted me  previously over the telephone. They "DID"...I guess they get a commission either way...

One other time,I tried to make reservations through Aeroflot and all "other" airlines that "connect" and are "in agreement" with Aeroflot and they "all" told me the new Fall Schedules Prices were not posted yet..."AGAIN"...Went to Aerosvit, had my reservations for travel leaving USA r/trip,"inside domestic russia as well" in a matter of minutes and then called Aeroflot in N.Y. with the reservation numbers from Aerosvit and faxed payment(copy of credit card and photo I.D.) to Aeroflot N.Y. for everything...

For some reason...I always seem to get better prices and seats and dates that all other airlines (including Aeroflot N.Y.) say are not available by going online to Aerosvit...Best of luck Ken...

I will also be in Moscow later this month.  I may also go to Sochi and/or St. Petersburg.  I couldn't find ANY good airfares for this time of the year, so I am having to use Skymiles and can only get to SVO through Paris (which is not so bad considering I can now go to two cities for the same Skymiles).  So, where are you staying?  Maybe we can meet in Moscow and have a piva?

Dude,
Sorry, but it is only my wife doing the traveling.  To visit the "rents" and renew her passport.  Maybe some other time.

....Ken, might try calling a consolidator in your area or try Nellie at Glavs Travel in NYC: 800-336-5727. She did good job for me when I was forced into traveling with the unwashed masses a few years back.

Not sure about the fare but you might consider the AeroFlop Seattle to Moscow run. That Great Circle route goes quite a bit north and cuts down on the time, about 10 hours total. Way faster than other routes. Shouldn't be difficult to get from SD to SeaTac. (It also departs from SFO before going to Seattle.) Some folks don't like AeroFlot but they do ok. The triple sevens are stripped down and their on time performance sux a bit but you'll live. Besides, they need the money...and with all those big bux you make, fares shouldn't be an issue. ;-)
