We had our Green Card interview on June 17th. Anyone know how long it takes before the card is issued? We were told there's no problem with our interview and that a letter would be sent indicating this fact within a week. It hasn't arrived yet. Also, they stated the FBI will be conducting a background check during this time which, according to them, generally takes a week or so. Is all of this true?
We are only anxious because this interview was postponed bu Homeland Security from March 17th to June 17th due to a case overload. This caused my stepdaughter's scholarship and financial aid for next year to be placed on-hold until she receives the Green Card. The university was gracious enough to assist her this past semester. I suspect her 3.98 GPA might have had something to do with it.
Likewise, my wife has not yet obtained a job for the same reason.
THX!
