... in response to hey Elton.........., posted by Cold Warrior on Jul 2, 2003(Sung to Elton's "Your Song")
It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside.
I step off the plane and to the hotel I ride.
I don't have much money; I spent it on my plane fare.
But what's left over goes a long way here.
The people are staring, at this strange man.
Who can't speak the language, but who hires one who can.
The meeting is coming soon, my heart does race.
Will she let me kiss her, or will she slap my face?
And I have told everybody about my trip.
They tell me I'm stupid, that I've flipped my lid.
But I just don't mind; I really don't mind what the people say,
I've always been one who went my own way.
I'm nervous and shaky, but I hold it inside.
I've come all this way and I've swallowed my pride.
The women back home are not what I can take.
And so I am here now, just for love's sake.
I think that is her! But then again, no.
I'm almost a wreck by the time she does show.
Right then the whole world stops, as I look upon her face.
And life is perfect for the whole human race.
And I have told everybody about my trip.
They told me I'm stupid, that I done flipped my lid.
But I just don't mind; I really don't mind what the people say,
For I've found the lady who brightens my day.
And I just don't mind; I really don't mind what the future might bring.
For I've found the lady who makes my heart sing.
