Patrick - Have you thought of modifying the board format lately?  I like the free flow, but wonder if there is some way you could organize the content as well.  Maybe subdividing the posts by categories - maybe by topics..... I am sure the computer guys out there have lots of ideas if you want suggestions for improvement.  Thanks.

I actually bought a program called VBulletin a while back.  It's more of a contemporary board with categories and not threaded as this board is.  Has lots of features.   But when I polled the boards, everyone wanted to remain with the same setup.

I agree,  that the free-flow works just fine.

I actually like the other format better.  But I know the majority here prefer no changes, so I stick with what we have.  At least it saves me from a 100 or so hours of work to modify whatever I changed over to in order to incorporate the anti-troll routines I built.

Whatever you change to members would accept after an initial aclimatization period of 2 weeks or so.  Once they have an upgrade they will be wondering how they pushed for the then old board.   Patrick - if you think a change will help - I for one support it.  Change is good.  It should be embraced.  Nobody stays with a Model T forever - though it is nice to pull out of the garage and show people once in a while.

Hey HockeyGuy, how bout those Devils, one win away from Lord Stanley's trophy.

Hockeyguy, I have looked at many of the differnet lay-outs of discussion boards and I have to say I like Planet Loves the most. It's so easy to follow threads that you are interested in and ignoring threads (or posters) you are not interested in.

Change is good sometimes and that is the good thing about a democracy. Patrick asked the board what they prefered sometime ago and the verdict was overwhelming to keep it the same format. I think if he were to put it to a vote again today the results would be the same.

In addition to Planet Love having a very easy to read and particpate in discussion board, Planet Love has, and is, gaining the reputation as being the best Russian dfiscussion board out there today. Many newby's are learning that on the Russian Planet Love discussion board you can openly discuss the scam activites of certain high profile agencies. You cannot do this on other Russian discussion boards who are receiving monthly advertising dollars from those same suspect agencies.

Yes, agree this is the most informative board.  Board members are happy with the format - as evidenced by the replies to my suggestion.

I *far* prefer this particular style of board over the style where threads are categorized.

Just my $.02.

I like having the topics comingled rather than having to check several sections as on other boards.  just my opinion.
