I've read through the archives and it sounds like the BCIS now issues blanket AP to those who request them.  Is my understanding correct that:

1.  They will issue an AP that is good for one year at a time and that it is good for multiple departures and re-enteries in to the US?

2  Also can you use this AP to travel to any country not just her home country?

Thanks for any additional help with these questions.  I'd still like to travel for the next couple of years while we wait for her AOS (after we're married in July) to be approved.

Advance Parole has absolutely nothing to do with entrance to a foreign country. It is issued solely so that the person may re-enter the US, hence, your question # 2 is moot.

You ask about "multiple departures and re-entries" - if you consider a maximum of 2 to be "multiple" then the answer to your question is Yes. Only 2 entries to the US are allowed in the one-year period - and that, only if you specify you wish 2 entries when you submit the application.

Thanks Dan for the info on the 2 entries.  I didn't really write question 2 well. My meaning was, did I need to specify on the AP application which countries she needed to go to or was I free to travel to anywhere I wanted too knowing that there would not be a problem re-entering the US for her. Again thanks for the info.
