Is there an "emergency" visa?....HELP!!!

I have tickets to leave on Tuesday June 3rd. HOWEVER since I got hired with Jennifers band I did not bother getting my visa since I would not be going on those dates. Well now my schedule is clear for a couple weeks & I CAN go. Is there a way to expedite a visa to Ukraine? HELP!!!

Ok I just spoke to Continental & bumped my departure from the 3rd of June to 8 or 9th. Who offers like 3-4 day service? and for how much?

I've used this company for visa's both times I've gone to Ukraine. There service is excellent. I've used the private visa in the past because I've gone to visit a particular woman. However that visa did not restrict me from moving about the country. I think the touist visa is also hassle free. Here is the contact info for the company I've used contact them and they'll tell you the best visa to get.

The fastest processing shown by the D.C. Embassy is 3 business days. If you send it next-morning on Monday with an enclosed next-morning return, you could get it on Friday.   The Embassy in D.C. office processes for Texas, see below for 3-day processing and cost.

My first trip i did not even know I needed a visa. The Thursday before the Tuesday I was to leave I realized I needed a visa. All day thursday I call the Chicago consulate, and finally got a hold of the consular there (I do not remember the name was almost two years ago).

I contact him, and he was friendly and helpful. I filled out the visa request on Thursday. Got my visa photos at 6 PM Thursday, got the package to Fed Ex 7 PM Thursday. Chicago received the package on Friday, Rushed the approval and sent it back to me next day ( I provided the prepaid envelope). I received it on Monday. I could have gotten it on Sat. but there was no need.

In your case you can send the documents next day air on Monday, then fly to Chicago to pick up the visa (They need your passport to affix the visa) early Tuesday, then fly out of Chicago Tuesday into Ukraine. There is a big expedite fee the consulate charges ($100 or so for a single entry visa to be processed that day), and you will have to go pick up the visa in Chicago.

For me Jack was helpful in providing the phone numbers I needed for the Chicago consulate. He still may have them, as I do not.

I do not think a travel agency will be able to get this processed any faster than dealing with the consulate yourself. However it is more phone calls and stress if you deal with it yourself.

Also note this was before 9-11-01.

Whatever you do will cost some extra bucks, but...

If you have a stopover (preferably in Europe), you could pre-buy a ticket from your stopover to Simferopol (SIP), then fly into Simferopol and get the 8-day tourist visa upon arival.  So, leave without the visa and get it at SIP.  Supposedly, you can do this at Odesa (ODS) as well.  It may be necessary to fly back out from the same airport, you would have to check.

If you enter Ukraine (and depart) through Odessa or Simferopol (in the Crimea) they will issue you a visa at the point of entry which is good for something like 8 days.

I once used Scope Travel to get a visa in a very short period of time.  It cost me a bunch, but I got it.  They have an 800 number so it wouldn't cost anything to give them a call and see what they can do.

Actually, I use them for my visa needs most of the time, when I go to Ukraine.  It's a lot easier than taking the time to hunt down and visit a Ukrainian consulate or embassy to get the work done.

Depends on the Embassy or Consulate.  You would probably need to show up at one of these personally, explain your situation, and wait...as in have lunch and come back.  I've done it many times, but not where you are going.  Would suggest you call the Embassy in DC, see if they'll do it, and if they will, just reroute yourself to leave from DC that evening.  However.....call first.
