Anyone who saw the movie Heartbreak Ridge would remember a scene where Clint Eastwood ordered one of his men to drive a bulldozer with its shovel up toward a nest of Cubans in Grenada, while the marines advanced behind the bulldozer. Most of this film about the Grenada invasion is fiction except for this part. The man in real life is General John  Abizaid, Abizaid ordered one of his sergeants to drive a bulldozer  towards a Cuban position while Abizaid and his troops advanced behind it.". Abizaid, a Muslim and Arab-American is tipped to replace retiring Tommy Franks as head of the US Central Command.  General Franks was expected to become chief of staff after General Eric Shinseki leaves in June.

I spoke to Gen.Franks in Iraq. Said his wife never liked him in uniform and he had promised her on their wedding day that he would leave the army. While most US army wives are proud of their men I have yet to meet a RW who wants her men folk in uniform. I know of a very vocal group of Russian mothers who do the impossible to get their boys out of the army. Strangely enough, not because of fear of war but of bullying. Widespread bullying in the Russian army leaves the conscripts too demoralized to follow any orders by their hated superiors.

The troops found themselves without the authenticator codes, call signs, and frequencies required to communicate with the aircraft carriers. A group of pinned-down Rangers called in air support by placing a credit-card  call to Fort Bragg .
