Wild Bill, not aware of any "socials" this afternoon or tomorrow in Kiev.

My experience and opinion is showing me that the word "social" now has such a negative stigma attached to it today that most good ladies in Russia and Ukraine will not even consider going to any event titled 'social'.

Have just completed our first of two parties in Kiev with the second party tomorrow. Over the last two weeks have had parties in Odessa, Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk. Looks like about half the guys on this group tour have found fiancée's before even getting to Kiev.  

The ladies who attend our parties have to be invited by the men who are attending the parties. The first thing many of these ladies say is they have no interest in attending our social and we proceed with telling them we do not put on 'socials'. There will not be 250 ladies for 20 or 25 men but instead a 3 to 1 ratio of women to men and the ladies can only attend by being invited by one of 12 men who will be attending the parties. And we go further to explain about the games we have, Champaign, food, the gifts we pass out, etc, etc.

So Wild Bill, as Patrick has mentioned, get those tomatoes plants growing, get you some money saved up and get your butt overseas and maybe YOU can give us your trip report!

ie., your $8.50 an hour job is not backed up by a trust fund from your rape-and-pillage-take-no-prisoners-grandfather, I would recommend that you ignore the chiding/advice you are receiving and NOT save up your undeclared revenue to go to the FSU to find a "traditional" woman.

Like all women. they're about the economy, stupid, only more so.

This is not intended to slam them.  They're playing a bad hand as best they can.  You need to do the same.  (We all do.)

That's why the mass exodus to the West.  But I'll bet there are a few out there that just might make a decent wife.

If you look closely, most American women marry for money as well.  So what's the difference, how can you spot them they're the ones that go to a shrink once a week....
because they are soooo depressed in their current life.

they all make decent wives, FSU or American, so long as you make a decent income.  If all you bring to the table is $8.50 an hour, you don't.

Instead of vicariously enjoying a trip, you can actually go.  Whip out that most muscular pose photo with the farmer's tan and start writing a few letters (emails these days I guess).   Life is short.

Patrick is correct, however, I should 'shut up,' if only for my own hypocrisy: my next trip is for a dog. A Dogue de Bordeaux - with the prime 'pup' being in S. Austria.

I did not realize we have some top of the line breeders amongst us.  Jack is a Golden Breeder, and you breed ?  Now I know who ask about lines if I ever get a new dog (yes, when it comes to dogs I am a pure breed guy too).
