... in response to What happened next? , posted by Streetwise on Apr 24, 2003I don't mind you asking at all. Basically the divorce won't be final until August so she is legal until then. She is at least out of my home and I haven't had any contact with her since the beginning of January other than in court. Also the charges she leveled against me were thrown out of court because her testimoney sounded so ridiculous. Example, she accused me of not allowing her to see her friends. My attorney asked "didn't your husband drive you to your best friend's apartment almost every day on his way to work?" Her reply, "Yes, but my friend has three jobs so I didn't get to see her". There were others even more ridiculous and the other charges were much more severe but I'll need to save that until after the divorce is final. After that I need to contact INS regarding this but I honestly don't know what forms to submit or what department to speak with. If anyone knows, I would really appreciate the info. Hopefully she will be deported as she should be and I personally feel she should never be permitted to return. But as I understand it, she could in the future receive another K1 visa if she leaves. If she is deported, I think she has a five year waiting period before she could get another visa.
