Hey Jimbo,
Anytime you need a R.P. fix.  I am willing to send you
plenty of asian food from Seattle.   I know that Westford
to Quincy is a long haul.   At one time I worked at
the Greater Lawerence Sanitary District.  I would make
the drive from Hopkinton on rt. 495.   And plenty of times
I drove past the Westford exit.  Also say hi to
Dr. methane for me  Kevin B.  I always watch my back
         with the Beantown Boys.

Hi Joe,

As luck would have it, Sally just came up with tickets for a Filipino dinner party and dance recital, tomorrow night in Bedford, held by the Philippine Dance Company of Boston (didn't know they existed).  They will have Filipino traditional dance, Tinikling and Itik Itik (a Visayan dance like a duck, I guess).  So it looks like I'll get my fix after all Shocked)

Uh! Oh!  Quack-Quack-Quack!   Old MacDonald had a farm . . .

LoL.

The dancer better take some allergy pills (ha-ha!).

You're right, the only Pilipino store I can find is in Quincy, although Lowell has a large Cambodian population. Cambodians are the largest minority in the city, by far.  They may even be in the majority now.  So we at least have a lot of asian stores nearby for rice, dried fish, and bak- choy.  But no bangus, Sally's favorite.  I always go along to the asian store to carry the sack of rice.  But I never ogle the lovely ladies because my Sally is a jealous one Shocked)

Just  out  of  curiosity  where  in  Quincy  is  the  philipino store  located?  I  used  to  drive  from  my  home  in  Hull  through  Hingham and  Weymouth through  part  of  Quincy  to  get  to  the  North  Quincy T  station On  Hancock St.  When I  needed  some  Culture  and  some  good fix  in  Chinatown.  Is  it  in  the  Downtown  section  of  Quincy  which I  usually  just  missed by  taking  3A  Or  did  I  pass  it  in  north Quincy  and  never  notice  it  before.

God  I  miss  Boston !  and  to think  that  the  Pats  even  won !

Yes, downtown Quincy, easy to miss because it's on a little sidestreet, a one way, I think - Chestnut street.  They've got Tagalog videos, a lunch counter, groceries, clothes, and Philppine made products.  We've made the trip just twice; from my house it's halfway to Cape Cod.

Hey Windmill,
Forget about the Pats, I miss the food.
New England chowder, strip bass, bay scollops,
blue fish.  Quincy market. Here in Seattle
they can't cook worth a poop.
I bet a guy like you, would be better than
       krispy creme

Joemc

I  am  actually  a Bills Fan  since  I  am  from  upstate  NY  though it  takes  courage  to admit it  nowadays  ha ha ha.

Unfortunately  I  do  not  do  the  seafood  thing  myself  as  I  am  allergic  to  it  but I  have  had  my  fill of  making the  chowders --  New England  one  week  and  then Manhattan  the  next  on  Fridays  when  I  was  a  soup chef  at  country  clubs  before  I  switched  to Pastries.

Quincy  market  is  impressive  the  first  time  you see  it  but once  you  are  used  to  it it  is  nothing  special  just  a  giant  tourist  trap.   I  was  impressed  with  Pike  public  Market  when I  was  there  in 1989  It  is  so  large  I  actually  got  lost  and  wound up  exiting  on  the  backside  by  the  sound.

Seattle  is  also one  of  my  favorite  cities  as  is  Portland  and  San Diego.  Denver  is  nice  and  I  would  like  to experience Chicago  some  more. Geographically the  most beautiful  city  is  Vancouver though.  We  just have  a new  Chef  Transfering  in from the  Seattle  property  and  I  will pick  his  brain  once  he  gets  settled.  The Four  seasons  has  a  property  in  Seattle  that  I  am  tempted  to  visit  and  I  have  a  cousin  in  West  Seattle.  But  going up  there  for  a  quick  Jaunt  wouuld  be  taking  money  away  from  "The Japan  fund"  so  I  am  holding  off  on  visiting.

Fortunately  we  don't  do   donuts  here.  Actually  I  have  only  worked  at one  hotel  that  makes  donuts.  What  a  pain  they  are.  I am a  Donut  Purist  and  I  do  not  really  eat donuts  until  I  Go  home  to  my hometown  of  Rochester  NY  where  I  can  down  3 - 4  in  a  row  until    go into  sugar  shock.  The  local  grocery  chain  makes  the  best ones. This  Grocery  chain  is  so  upscale though  they  can  make  pastries  as  good  as  I am able  to  though.  and  with  140,000 square  foot  stores  it  is  a  pleasure  and  exprience  to  go  shopping  there --- state  of  the  art.

They  have  built  a famous  Krispy  Kream  donut  place  about  15  miles  away  from  me  in Oxnard  so maybe  I  will  try them  soon  putz around  town  for  a  while  and  go  to  the German  restuarant  I  recently  saw  in Ventura.  I  have  to  have  some Spaetzle and  braised  red  cabbage  in my  life, either  that  or  some  good  Hot  and  Sour  Soup  ha ha ha.  I always  wondered  in  Boston  if  the  Dunkin Donuts  stores  all  around  town  sold more coffee  than  donuts  in  the  mornings  especially  by  the  T  stations.

I'm surprised you didn't have something good to say about salmon.  Hey, I like salmon specialties.

As of now, I'm presently friends with two.  It's hard to tell what will happen in the future.  Both girls seem like nice girls.  I guess it will ultimately depend with whom I can truely connect with.
