Tuesday was fairly uneventful as well. We did what needed to be done on the business end of things. Then Rick took a nap and I went walkabout.
I walked down to the Robinsons Department store area. There is a young lady with a couple of kids that begs on the footbridge there that has been there for years. As of last year she is missing her right arm below the elbow. In past years I have always bought her a bag of oranges and peanuts from nearby vendors, and this year I did the same. I think that this year she recognized me from days past as she even looked at me and smiled. I don't recall her ever looking at me before, other than at my feet. She is not nearly so ugly as I remembered her being, just, well, rather unkempt. I wish there was something more I could do for her, maybe there is.
There is a new family on the bridge this year. A very thin man and two small children. The kids seem very happy and well adjusted, considering their home is cardboard boxes on a footbridge. I did the same for them. Rick and I refer to this as the "toll bridge" as it always costs P20+ to cross it.
Rick had seen my pics taken several years ago of the Tarsier monkeys, and he wanted to see them. So we decided to take the trek to Bohol the next day. We thought we might like to take Nancy and Audrey with us, so we went into Exotica that evening to ask them if they wanted to go. Neither of them were there. Oh well. Rick went to bed, and I went to the Lone Star.
Janie came right over, and we spent the evening together. GRO or not, I liked this girl. She is sweet, quiet, and rather shy. There are some things she won't discuss, though, mostly to do with her family. When I ask her something that is awkward for her to answer she just puts her head down in my lap. I pick her head up by the hair and look at her and she just closes her eyes and says nothing. Maybe I should try picking her head up by the ears??
