... in response to Hmmmm - An Odd Coincidence (or is it?) ...., posted by Dan on Apr 14, 2003

Hehehe... nice to know that some things never change, Dan. Just ignore the facts when you have an axe to grind...

Actually, I didn't start any threads which raiseed that issue. Or, at least not in a very long time...

The last time I saw a post on this it was WSBill who started the thread. (Look down and see his: "Too much dribble on this board" I think he meant drivel... but that's WSBill for ya...)

But, he was just the latest. It has been said by a lot of people, Dan. Including your some of your "friends and allies".

Does PL have more hits? Yes, I'm sure it does, since anyone can view it without being required to register.

Does it have more "Action?" ... well if you count new threads, I'm sure that is probably true, too. But when you take away the political chat, the "Hi Guys I'm new", and the obligatory shilling for FD... I think the actual useful traffic is probably about the same...

But... opinions vary...

Sorry to get involved in a two-person conversation, but I gotta say something. When you say Dan has an ax to grind, you really seem to be a little off.

By way of comparison, Dan makes Alan Alda look like an abrasive, insensitive jerk. Really. Dan has been so incredibly open minded, helpful and nonjudgmental. If you do not believe me, then read all of his thousands of posts over the past several years.

Although your posts are consistently negative and you come across as cranky, I have never said much about it. Its your right to be excessively negative and cranky if you want. If it makes you happy to always see the glass as half empty, then please do so. If you want to devote yourself to taking personal shots at some of the most helpful and constructive people on this board, then I suppose that is also your prerogative. I just want you to know that very few people share your opinion. Maybe we are all wrong while you are right. Maybe you speak for the silent majority of lurkers who secretly hate Dan and Jack, but come back to this site again and again. Or maybe you need to understand that you have totally lost perspective with your personal attacks on these two great guys.

Lighten up if possible. Life is to short to spend so much time being unhappy. If this board and these people make you so unhappy, then why do you subject yourself to it so often? I am not telling you to go. I am just asking you why you choose to be somewhere that makes you so cranky and unhappy. You can’t be like this all of the time so I am assuming that its something here that makes you behave this way.

Tell me Mark - exactly what "axe" is it you *think* I have to grind??? And what FACTS is it that you are prepared to present?

Mark wrote: "Actually, I didn't start any threads which raiseed [sic] that issue. Or, at least not in a very long time..."

You certainly expressed that point of view in a response. But then, I have noticed your pattern of position reversals. It is one of your most distinctive characteristics.

Mark wrote (and inappropriately quoted): "It has been said by a lot of people, Dan. Including your some of your "friends and allies"."

Seems to distress you that I have ""friends and allies"" - why is that Mark?

Mark wrote: "obligatory shilling for FD"

Isn't that the same FD that you wrote on 12/9/2001 Huh :

"You will find those -- like Jack -- who searched for years, and who have reduced the whole process to a series of steps that makes it almost like a science." and

"The point stands, though. A good agency is VERY valuable. I cannot imagine what my last trip to Russia would have been like without Jack's help..."

Sheez Mark - are you ALSO "shilling for FD" - or is this yet another example of your position reversals Huh

just playin', mate (pure statistics... sans: bad food, porn & TV).

It's not an issue of quality...

I was, but sportin' my 'love' for N.R. in an, albeit convoluted manner.

Now, if the 'Neo-con' capture of the Conservative movement is fine; well, we can chat at length.

O.C. = Texas.

MAybe the name "#ussian @oman's *uide," sounds more "normal" than ")lanet - $ove."  Maybe it is marketing.  Maybe it is their categories vs the free flow of the +lanet-^ove board.  I do not know - but I do know that the *WG board deletes threads that are unfavorable to their advertisers, while this board tells the truth as the posters see it.  I post on and read both boards - I respect this board more - because this board told me the straight stuff every time - while I listened to and heard alot of bad advice on the RW&uide board.  So, lots of hits, means more dumb people not reading the right site - things will change...........it is just a matter of time, and marketing.
