Welcome to Planet Love!

Yes, your wife always speaks well of you. You should be proud of her for passing her driving test and her pregnancy test all in the same week.

Now that she has a bun in the oven, you need to pay more attention to those cravings. The sea urchins may be a little hard to find, but you need to at least make a good effort. But if she only wants coleslaw, then get down to Hardees and lay in a supply now. And don’t be surprised if she just looks at it and refuses to eat it. That’s all part of the game (LOL). If you’re real lucky, she will stick to coleslaw for a while. But these cravings can change from one day to the next. Tonight it might be coleslaw and tomorrow baluts. You just never know with these things. But it’s very important that you pay attention to her cravings and don’t laugh at her no matter how hard you want to bust a gut. Better to go out in the barn if you just can’t stand it any longer and need to laugh your ass off.

And while you’re down at the supermarket, be sure to pick up a whole bunch of garlic. You’ll need to put fresh garlic in all the windows and around all the doors. Oh yeah, don’t forget to throw some up on the roof too! You have to protect your pregnant wife from the aswang. If you don’t know what an aswang is by now, better ask your wife so she can explain it to you. Yes, I have heard from reliable sources that there are indeed aswangs here in the USA. I guess the INS screwed up again and forgot to screen them out :-)

I don’t know what to tell you about the driving lessons. If there is any way you can afford it, it’s always better to hire a professional instructor to do the job. Let someone else get ulcers and maybe save your marriage at the same time. It’s really hard not to yell at your wife when she’s about to crash into a school bus, but you must remain very calm and don’t let her see your hand reaching for the parking brake every 10 seconds. It would probably help to take a couple of good stiff drinks before you take her out on the road for practice, but then you would be setting a bad example.

Raquel has a great talent for story telling and I predict that you will have very few dull moments in your marriage. Looks like you found a good one!

Hey Ray,

My heart goes out to you...green mangoes at one o'clock in the morning! I've been lucky, the unripe South American and Mexican mangoes have somehow managed to keep my wife at bay ("they're OK")...but then again, she's not pregnant like Mrs. Febtember. Can you imagine Mr. Febtember trying to find green mangoes in the middle of winter in llinois? ;o))) Store clerk, "Uhhh...what's a mongo?" ;o)))

I'll bet Mr. Febtember has satelite TV and a laptop with Internet connection, right inside his aircon/heated tractor. I'm very familiar with the farming practices of the Mid-West. ;o))) He can probably post from the South forty. :oD

... in response to Hi DaveH, Pray Tell..Green Mangoes???, posted by greg on Mar 25, 2002

Hi Greg,

It's a Filipina pregnancy craving, like dill pickles and ice cream. ;o)) I don't think that there are any particular medicinal values...especially when it is covered in salt. My wife loves carabao mangoes...I'd hate to see how much that craving increases when she becomes pregnant...no plans at the moment. ;o) I'd have to plant a carabao mango tree in the back yard and wait for it to bear fruit first. ;o))

Of course gregory cannot read or write, he's only 16 months old, he's doing good in school. My Joy, a very clever boy and Handsome. People say we look like twins lol. I'm kinda worried about our age difference, when he gets 20, I will be 67. Anyway when I tell AWs that I'm trying to get his Mama here, they say for what?Huh They don't think I need her here hahaha. Taking care of Him is Fun. Anyway, "Mr Peabody" and all his negatives is Gone hehe. greg

Febtember

I  am  happy  to  hear  about  your  positive test  results and I hope your  pregnancy  will  go easy  and  safely.  My  coworker  is 7 1/2  months  pregrnent and  it  sure  is  fascinating  to watch her  and  hear  aboout what  the  baby  is doing inside now  and  then.

I  am happy  to  hear  that the  bad  dogs  are  in the animal shelter  and I am  sory to hear  about  the  loss  of  some  of  your  animal friends.

Sorry to hear about your pets, you would get along with my wife, she's the same way about animals (has rabbits and a goat also,  no pig though).
It's harsh but you can never trust stray dogs around livestock,  better to have the dog catcher pick them up ASAP (if you can't do the 3 'S' thing)
Congratulations on your pregnency.

Poor Goaty, what a way to go! I suspect that he is happy now in goat heaven and watching over his friends on the farm. I guess that means Arnold has a new guardian angel?

Congratulations! I pray you have an easy pregnancy. Maybe if it’s a boy you could name it Goaty? Naw...

I feel sorry for your husband if you get a craving for green mangoes and bagoong in the middle of the night :-)
