Here's an update on the I-129F processing at the California Service Center of the BCIS. Looking at a site that posts information about processing fiancee visas. You can see with the latest figures from the first of March, the rate by which they were getting behind has slowed-- the processing is speeding up now! I hope this is good news for those of you waiting for the paperwork to be processed through this center. Hey, it's still moving like molasses, but like warmed molasses instead of frozen molasses.

On 3-01-03 they were processing I-129f's with a receipt notice date of 12/03/02; 87 days behind.
On 2/15/03 they were processing I-129f's with a receipt notice date of 11/22/02"; 85 days behind.
On 02/01/03 they were processing I-129f's with a receipt notice date of 11/19/02"; 73 days behind.
On 01/01/03 they were processing I-129f's with a receipt notice date of 11/19/02"; 42 days behind.
On 12/01/02 they were processing I-129f's with a receipt notice date of 10/17/02"; 44 days behind.
On 11/15/02 they were processing I-129f's with a receipt notice date of 10/08/02"; 37 days behind.
On 11/05/02 they were processing I-129f's with a receipt notice date of 09/30/02"; 35 days behind.
On 10/15/02 they were processing I-129f's with a receipt notice date of 09/20/02"; 25 days behind.
On 10/11/02 they were processing I-129f's with a receipt notice date of 09/20/02"; 21 days behind.
On 09/27/02 they were processing I-129f's with a receipt notice date of 09/19/02". 8 days behind.
As you can see, from 1/1/03 to 2/15/03, cases received only from 11/19 to 11/22 were being processed-- only cases from 4 days were worked on over six weeks. However, from 2/15/03 to 3/1/03, cases from a whopping 12 days were worked on. It looks like the bottleneck has finally been eased.

If they had gotten to three more days of cases (15 instead of 12) during the last two weeks of February, then as far as I understand this (and I have absolutely no knowledge of how they work), it seems to me that they would be totally caught up, so to speak-- that is in 15 days time, they started processing 15 day's worth of cases. No more falling behind, at least, albeit with a backlog of nearly three months. It will be interesting to see the next report to see the latest trend.
Those of you who have contacts with the BCIS, feel free to shed some light on this data and tell me if I am right or wrong with this analysis.
