We just got the last test results back this evening!!!  Our son has had major tests all week long since the removal of his tumor 2 weeks ago today.

Bone Scan-           Clear
Bone Marrow Scan-    Clear
Cat Scan-            Clear
MRI-                 Clear
MIBG Scan-           Clear

This last test, the MIBG, is where they get a radio isotope from Canada, inject him with dye and scan him from head to toe.  It can detect any cancer cells anywhere in the body, they light up like christmas tree lights basically.  There was nothing.  Not even at the tumor site where they would have expected there to be some residual cells left.  Nothing.
All they plan to do is do an MRI every 3 months for the next year to make sure nothing is growing back (they don't expect it given the type of tumor it was).  No chemotherapy, no radiation, nothing needed.
We are so fortunate that it was not an aggressive type of cancer.  Evidently there are about 5 other types of cancer that are far worse.  This type is not known for invading other tissue or travelling much.  But they did say that if it had not been taken out, it would have continued to grow and very easily could have metastisized later.

I just have to say that never have I seen such strength as I have seen in my wife..  She has slept at the hospital every night in his room for 2 solid weeks.  She has averaged between 1-4 hours sleep per night.  Not one cross word, not once did I hear her say "why us", nothing but faith and positivity and kindness.

He still has his chest tube in but that should be coming out soon and he should be able to come home.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your good wishes and prayers, they definitely helped IMO..

A special thanks to Ed Ragsdale for helping me by digging out some of his AOS stuff to send me as I have had zero time to be working on it, and also great thanks to Dan who also supplied me with the same and some greatly needed encouragement.

I think tonight I will get my first good nights sleep in about 3 weeks..  ;-)

Later,
Oscar

Hi Oscar,

I had no idea you were going through this. I just haven't been around at all. I actually logged on tonight just to see what you, specifically, were up to. I certainly wish you and your family the best in this matter, and I think it can only make your family stronger. Congratulations again on your success. You've got a good woman and boy.

That is so great!  Maybe whatever this growth was, it wasn't  cancer.  I just hope that it doesn't reoccur.  But the fact that they don't see anything is very good news indeed!  Congratulations!

Of Courtesy, it is much less
Than Courage of Heart or Holiness,
Yet in my walks it seems to me
That the Grace of God is in Courtesy.

And as I see it, it was your methodical approach to everything that worked this miracle, after the health check in Kiev and the second health check in USA failed to discover the tumour, I guess you still had some nagging doubts that made you arrange the third check.

You're a hero Oscar and a fine father.

I haven't had much time nor mood to visit P-L recently, but I'm glad I checked in today to read this good news.
