Author Topic: 5-Yr Multi-entry Visitor Visa  (Read 1305 times)

Has anyone gotten one of the B-2 visitor visas for relatives from Ukraine since last fall?  They have multi-entry visas good for 5 years, but this only specifies the time they may enter the country but not the length of stay.  It says that the default length of the visit granted at the port is 30 days but they go on to say that additional time can be requested at the interview.  But isn't that the point of the multi-entry visa- so that there is not an interview EACH time they want to visit?  In the case of the single-entry visa my mother-in-law received last summer, they actually wrote that she requested to stay for 3 months in her passport on the visa, and that is what they granted her at the port of entry.  Does anyone have experience with the multi-entry visas now and know how they handle this at the port of entry?  If my in-laws show up with tickets for 2 months and a letter from us, will they grant their stay for that length of time?  I'll look forward to your experince.
