Hi.  I had dinner with the American Ambassador (Ukraine) and some peace core volunteers recently and the topic of "Bride Hunters" came up and what was interesting was that the Ambassador made specific mention of Jack Bragg.  It seems that they receive many complaints about the dating agencies in general and Jack Bragg in particular.

"Currently living n Ukraine. Have been here now since May 2001. Love Ukrainian Women .. they are great but there is a lot of false statements out there and many if not all the dating agencies are ripping off their clients"

I have not read any of the many responses below but will jump in with my response with the understanding that it may be redundant.

Above in quotes is your description of your involvement in your profile per your words. You already have your opinion about the industry. There is nothing wrong with that. We all know that there are agencies that are not ethical.

However, humans once they have an idea about something can be prone to hearing mainly information that supports their claim. I am not saying you are doing this. One simply looks to what one has seen in general in the world we live in to try and get an idea about what an individual and their actions mean.

In making such a statement about someone you are by responsibility of your action now obligated to provide more information to support this or you should not have said anything.

This is why many decide to be silent as they do not want to be bothered with the responsibility of having to do this.

So, I either complement you or I say shame on you based upon what you do next here.

actually, the name of the US Ambassador to Ukraine is such a highly classified piece of information, that it is hidden in public view on the internet: http://www.usemb.kiev.ua/amb_eng.html Obviously, Anton can't be bothered to put easily obtainable facts into his posts.

Hey Antonua, hope you will stay around awhile. You could probably help a lot of guys coming to Kharkov. You could be a great asset to many here with your help and experience. I think I like you already. You know the "right" people!

In my defense Antonua, if I may make a few comments.

{Let's see here, you say}.......Currently living n Ukraine. Have been here now since May 2001 and you say you have lived in Ukraine now for around 18 months . {....Well, which is it, 22 months or 18 months?}

Had dinner with some peace core volunteers recently and the topic of "Bride Hunters" came up ........{DAMN! I keep trying to tell those yo-yo's it's "peace corp", not "piece corp"!}

the American Ambassador made specific mention of Jack Bragg......... {What! No Sadam Hussian!,...No Bin Ladin? ...No cow claire!}

the Ambassador it seems receives many complaints about the dating agencies in general and Jack Bragg in particular............ {Oh Yea, these dating agencies rank  right up there with the selling of F-16's, un-tapped oil reserves and Iraq}

I am just conveying what was less then 5 minutes of conversation...(...HEY, no mention of Sadam or Ladin and I ONLY GET 5 MINUTES!!)

Huys... ... The subject of Americans in Ukraine came up and apart from NGO's, Government and corporate executives the only tousits that visit Ukraine were either ex-pats paying a return visit, religous freaks or "bride hunters".....{OK, This I take exception too! Your putting religious freaks in front of bride hunters!}......{ and oh yea, guys is spelled with a "g", not an "h"}.

We discussed the impact of the the dating agencies, the lies and deceit. This comes as no surprise. I understand that the embassy is looking at tightening up proceedures and will undertake a joint review of all dating agencies working in and out of Ukraine......{uh-oh, if this is true it might be bad news for the scam agencies!}

......{Poka to ya'll also Antonua}

Earlier this afternoon, I did call Jack and asked him, why he had not respond to the post,
he told me that, he was very busy today and would check on these posts later on.
Perhaps as Dan suggested it is the post of a troll,
if it is so,  it is a very cheap way to make a joke, somehow.

The subject of Americans in Ukraine came up and apart from NGO's, Government and corporate executives  the only tousits that visit Ukraine were either ex-pats paying a return visit, religous freaks or "bride hunters".

We discussed the impact of the the dating agencies, the lies and deceit.

The ambassadors advisor mentioned that they had a number of complaints, imparticular from a guy based in Australia contected with the Australian Government.

The advisor mentioned that they regually monitor this site.

This comes as no surprise..  I understand that the embassy is looking at tightening up proceedures and will undertake a joint review of all dating agencies working in and out of Ukraine.

your statements are: thought-provoking, at the very least.

You must be an prominent Ukranian citizen to attend such functions, as you do. Please, do tell; if only, for our simple 'edification.'

I was also there at the same table when the ambassador made these remarks. I remember there was a hush in the room as the ambassador declined his favorite champagne and his gorgeous, blue-eyed, young Ukrainian "assistant" bent over, revealing a long line of firm cleavage which probably led down close to her belly button, to pour His Ambassadorship a frosty Heineken.

Obviously admiring her god-given graces with a lingering, vertical eye-sweep, down, then up, His Ambassadorship said, "Those damn marriage agencies suck-- they really do. Let me tell you. Because of people like Jack Bragg, who is very successful in helping the fine young women of this country find happiness with foreign men-- thus helping to create a freakin' exodus of fine foxes, well, it pisses me off as there has been a sharp decline in both eye candy and hand pudding for yours truly. The sooner we shut down those bride by mail travesties, the better I say!"

There was a silence, then a few of the more inebriated started tapping their champagne glasses with their tiny sugar spoons to tinker approval. When the chiming grew louder, I felt I must join in, and did. I started playing footsy with the personal assistant, then filled out the paperwork for her visa while we fed each other dessert, and... well, one thing led to another later. I must be discreet when talking about my future wife.

So Antonua was right... the ambassador did complain about JB.
