Questions about Police Certificate

My wife needs a police certificate for the time she lived in Ekaterinburg, Russia (She is now in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.)  I have asked two agency owners in Ekaterinburg for help but they both said she must do it herself.  She has sent some sort of form to her father.  He tried Monday but was unsuccessful.  He is going to go back tomorrow and try again.

Does anyone know what the process is?  Can her father get the certificate for us, and what does he need to do to get it?

Just wanted to alert you that if the woman was every married you need police certificates not only in her birth name but in her married name for the city which she lived during any time she was married.

This may not be what you want to hear.....my wife says she needs to this this herself in person, along with her personal passport.

Griff, I was hoping someone would have a better response and reply than what I could offer you.

I have seen, and heard, of similiar type problems before, infact a couple of the current posters were faced with a similiar situation. The local OVIR was just screwing around, one excuse after another. Do you know what it took to get the problem resolved Griff? I hate to tell you, but it was a well placed $20, a couple of them.

You may need to send dad-in-law a little extra "help" money and I think dad will have no problem in getting the results you want.

I know you may not want to do this or have problems doing it, but I think you will be surprised at how quickly the problem is resolved.

This is becoming a more standard occurance when these little side problems arise. These people know that when a lady needs this paperwork to help her fiancee visa process with a man from the west, that a golden opportunity has risen.

Jack, what does a lady need when she goes there to request this information, besides money, passport. Does she need the packet 3 check list in hand also?
