I've with great interest read how the married men on this board treat their wives, and about the good relationship most of you have established with your parents in law. I'm having the same experience. Through my wife, I've not learned to appreciate my parents in law, but also my wife's friends.

We marry a foreign woman, and in this process we make a lot of ties to a new family and people in a foreign country.

I've always taken big interest in Russia, but after I married a Russian wife my attitude has changed from pure interest and a little fear, to  more friendly and warmer feelings. I feel good about good news from Russia and sad about bad news.

My postulate is that marrying a foreign woman has a wider perspective than only getting a good wife and making a good family. I truly believe this also is promoting mutual understanding and making strong ties between peoples. From this perspective we are all peacemakers.

Maybe we should nominate those of us who is especially promoting this process, Patrick and Jack, for candidates for the Nobel Peace Price :-)

To be honest I don't know what he wants a piece of so I looked in my dictionary and this i what I found, maybe he wants something of this:

piece (pees)  n., v. pieced, piec-ing
a piece of land,
a piece of lumber,
a piece of pie,
piece' of ass'

Maybe you will explain it to me :-)?

Specifically peach pie.  Those twins had a peach orchard and were known throughout the State for their fine peaches!

One summer this wierd guy named Prufrock worked on their place as a hired hand.  I remember he used to wander around mumbling to himself, "Do I dare to eat a peach?"

We always had to watch out for their father.  He was very protective of his daughters and everywhere he went he carried a shotgun.

I guess you could say that the price of peaches was eternal vigilance.

that the prize also has a price. What I don't understand is why you want to send that money to all the husbands there in Northern Texas and to the Russian wives there as well. Maybe their husbands will be suspicious and angry with you when you send money to their wives. There is something you should be more careful with, Jack. There is so easy to misunderstand your good will when you do this and not that :-).

PS: Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Why only Northern Texas. Why do you exclude the rest of us?

Well Horoshj, just common sense dictates such. Once the money is divided equally amongst the RW/AM couples here, then mailed to each, I figure each good couple (have to exclude the ass-holes and bad Russian women of course) will be $747.38. Now if we include the other good Texas couples that figure would be $211.07. If we include those in the US that figure would now be $4.61 and if we include those in the world we would be losing money with all the expenses required. So from a common sense approach in wanting to be able to contribute a figure that couples could do something with, you have to put a limit on the geographical location one can consider.
