Joe,

Nice story, thanks for sharing :c)

I was in Southern Leyte about 4yrs ago to meet my ex-wife's parents.  It is BREATHTAKING!!!  Sure, it's simple there, but MAN what a great place to hang out for a few weeks!

I have also heard many nice things about the areas surrounding Davao.  Guess I'll get to tell you all about it sometime this summer as I am planning a trip for June or July as we speak :c)

Keep the Faith!

Howard,

Your making us jealous.  I really want to go this year, but with the baby due and us saving for a house in Northern Virginia, we won't be able too.  But I'm hoping to read your stories from the trip. I really found your stories a source of inspiration for my own adventure.  Maybe without it I wouldn't have gone to meet Mares.  What a loss that would have been.

Take care and keep in touch.

D-Money

You flatter me :c)  Then again you have always had GREAT taste, so I'll just have to assume your praise is warranted :c) LOL!

If it makes you feel any better about my trip :c), you and Mares are a large part of the reason I found the strength to try again.  Your wife makes alot of sense, when she's not packing :c)  LOL

Seriously, it was the conversations I had with you guys that made me realize that I should try again, and I owe the two of you a great debt for the good advice!  Gerlie is the BEST! and I might have missed out if Ched hadn't urged me to reconsider.  Thank God she's smarter than I am! :c)

How's my niece/nephew?  Ya, know I am thinking it's gonna be a girl.  Don't ask me why, just a hunch :c)

Give my best to Mares!

You know I love you guys :c)

Keep the Faith!

Hi H,

Maybe I'll see you there. I may be in the area about the same time. But, I don't think I'm going to take the bus ride through the mountains, unless I pick up some firepower from my main man or take along my homies. ;o))

Funny you mention this.  It's 9 years ago on today's date that I arrived in the Philippines for the first time (and so far, only time) in my life.  My destination was on Mindinao in the Davao Region.  My stay was very pleasant and peaceful, and the people were generally warm and friendly where I was.  There were incidences of terrorists even then ( a bomb went off at the Davao airport the week before I left), but my ex-wife knew which places and spots to avoid.

kevin, thanks for your reply.I read alot of your posts
on the board . They were very good, you express yourself well.
And you gave the flip-side being married to a filipina.
To me that takes alot of guts.I can agree with you alot
and at times you should control that Irish temper. Just believe in yourself and you will come on top
