... in response to TRIP REPORT #1, posted by MArkUSA on Mar 11, 2002Mark,
PLEASE, by all means, continue your trip report. It can be helpful to some, I'm sure, and interesting reading to boot. You said down below that you like critisism. Good, I hope you do. Here's some from me. I can't hold my tounge (finger's) anymore.
Good God, man!! Get a grip!! You don't even know this girl and she is 17. I know, I know, age doesn't matter. Well, B.S.! It does! Especially when dealing with Filipina's.
Many first timer's to the Philippines are awstuck at the "maturity" of the very young women they meet there, when they compare them to the typical 17 yr. old American. Because they come from much worse economical condition's usually, the Filipina tend's to think more about grown up subject's. They do, but like any young person they know squat about love and relationships. She is equaly as mature as your 17 yr. old sister in that way. If not less. For you to think that because she is a Filipina, that it would be different than marrying a 17 yr. old American, your wrong. Typical first time traveler mistake. Would you marry an American of the same age?? I doubt it. Most of the Fil/Am marriages I see fail are when the guy marries a girl 21 or younger. The girls just can't seem to handle it. This is not all, but most. About 98% in my experience, and I've seen many.
Also, you just met. There is no getting around that. How can you possibly KNOW her??
You seem like a good guy, Mark. I have alot of respect for the nursing profession and anyone who was Airborne. That SHOULD make you a mature, well rounded guy. However, reading your post's you come off sounding desperate and loopy, like you been raiding the medicine chest at the hospital. Although, I must say, that jizz you sent her above, makes your relationship maturity level seem about 17 as well. My 17 yr. old stepdaughter would have LOVED it. So maybe you are compatable. Not saying you are this way, just that's how it comes off over a computer.
Believe it or not, I wish you the best. Personally though, I think your a can short of a six pack. When I lived in Texas, I met alot of 30 something year old corn fed guys married to teeenager's. Couldn't understand why. Thier marriages never worked out either.
Well, it's your life. Nothing say's it can't work. Nothing anyone says is gonna stop ya. I just had to say what I think. You might want to think a bit more about what Howard and Ray were saying about messing up HER life. It might. You better think about that. At least give this thing some thought.
That said, all the best to you.
