Well after 5 hours of sleep and a good breakfast I was ready to go!
My first date was set for 12:00. She was a dentist that was in her first year of residency. She was very busy and had just a couple of hours during the day to meet. I had picked her from a group of ladies that a local Kiev lady had. These girls were all local girls that were not with any agencies and all just friends of a friend so to speak. She is 27 and when we spoke on the phone she came across as being a bit "flighty". She had a knockout body and a so-so face.
We met at a Cossack restaurant near independence square. Actually it was in the upstairs part which is like a Viennese pastry bar. Quite nice and a great place to meet for a coffee, tea, wine and a dessert.
She was right on time and greeted me in a very friendly manner.
She looked better in her pictures that she sent me but she did have a great body.Personality wise I could tell that she liked me and she was trying to show me her best side, which was very pleasant. At the end of our meeting she came right out and asked me if I would like to see her again. I told her yes and she asked if we could make the next date now because of her work and studies she is really busy and would like to schedule it now which we did. Her work was close by so she said she would just walk back there. We kissed goodbye and left.
I had just over an hour to kill so I walked back to my apartment.
For those of you famuliar with Kiev, my apartment was just to the left of the McDonalds ( if you are facing it) and upstairs from the TOUR restaurant. It is the restaurant that has the Eiffel Tower picture out front. My terrace opened right onto the street and it was fabulous for girl watching at any time. Which is what I did often either with dates for drinks or by myself killing time.
Here is my impressions of the people that I saw and I saw literally thousands. Do the people dress in black? I would say about 60% of them do yes. The rest wear colors as we do in the USA except not the real wild colors that some people wear. Are the Kiev women ( Ukrainian) beautiful? To be honest no more so than most USA cities and a lot lot less than here in Charlotte. I would say the vast majority of them are "7's" and occassioanlly you will see an "8" but as in most of my trips I never saw many if any real knockout beauties, except at the bar at the Dnieper Hotel and we know what they were.
I met my next girl at 3:30 downstairs of the TOUR restaurant. It is a nice quiet place and she was also on time. This girl I had found in the catalogue of EC. I have one rule that I always followed in ordering addresses of girls in catalogues. If she didn't have a phone number I didn't order her info. Once I got the phone I would have my local friends call her and arrange to meet her. They would bring my pictures and info and also take a camera and take some pictures. This way I knew exactly who I was meeting. If she didn't agree with all this then I would just take a pass. I would say over the years 98% agreed with this so it was never a problem.
We met some for a light lunch and a glass of wine. her english was very broken but she said she understood everything I was saying and I would just have to listen well to understand her, but we both managed ok. She was a nice girl, not quite as attractive as the pictures but a nice personality. She was again a "7". Which is what I always seem to meet in thse trips.
I think at this point I should say that before I started going over to the FSU, I had in my mind that if I met some special I would be happy to get married. But I am not a desperate man, I don't hate AW or any women for that matter so unless it was really someone special I wasn't going to get married. We finished our lunch, I thanked her, got her a taxi and got ready for my next date.
I had arranged a dinner date for 7:00. I was meeting a girl that I had found on the internet. I was able to get her phone number and have my friends meet with her. They said she was friendly, the only unfortunate part was they weren't able to take any pictures so I had to go by the pictures I had seen from the internet.
We met at the Cossack restaurant, the main restaurant not the pastry bar. It is a lovely place with great Georgian wines. I forget the name of the place but the waiters are all dressed like Cossacks and the decor is of that period of time.
She was about 15 minutes late and her english was very bad so I had one of my lady friends meet us and interpret. She was very pleasant when she showed up and said she was sorry for being late.
One thing I forgot to mention. I love giving small presents to girls and every girl I meet on the first date gets a small box of chocolates. I buy them here at the grocery for $3.95 a box and I wrap them up when I get to Kiev. They all really like that and prefer that the chocolates came from the USA and not something that I bought in Kiev. Well the dinner was nice and she seemed ok but nothing special and I thanked her and sent her on her way.
I had 3 dates set for the next day. My big ace in the whole for this whole trip was that I was having a girl that I had met the year before take the train up from the south of Ukraine. We were going to spend 5-6 days together and in my mind I thought that if all went well I would be happy to get engaged with her. We had spent about 5 days together before a year ago and we both liked other and she was a real beauty. I had other concerns about her ( red flags) which was why I didn't get engaged before. More on that and the rest in..........PART 3

I bought Victoria a box of chocolates. It was supposed to be Ukraine's finest.

Yuuuck!

I hated it. She seemed to like it. Always ewanted to share it with me, and I would say: "No Darling, I bought it for you..."

I don't know what she's going to think of Nestles... she might hate it.

Mark,
Lena LOVES DARK chocolate!  Most here is MILK chocolate and overly sweet.  After almost 4 years, I have to agree with her.

First off, how many times have you been to Kiev? You have friends who you can send out on a fact finding mission? That's amazing! Where did your friends come from? Did you meet them on your previous trips? Or how did you get this support team in Kiev?

It is quite a coincidence, but I stayed in the same apartment building as you did! My apartment's balcony over-looked the back, though.

We were in apartment number 13. I didn't think about that until later. I have never been superstitious. In fact, I have always kinda liked the number 13.

But supposedly "all" russian women are terribly superstitious. (I can't tell you how many times I read this!)

Anyway, one day while we were there, I asked Victoria if she were superstitious, and she laughed and said: "No... We live in Apartment 13!" That was the first time it ocurred to me.

BTW, thank you for your "eye-candy" report. It is EXACTLY the way I feel about the women I saw. Others on here have claimed to get whiplash watching beautiful women walk by, and never understood that. It was like they went to a different Kiev than I did.

Looks like you and I were definitely in the same city.

I have been to Kiev 5 times.
Yes, I met my friends on previous trips starting in 1998. My first contact was an interpreter who was well contacted and then one thing led to another.
