I've got 1,2 and 3 on CD. I'm thinking of putting them on my Kazaa list. Anyone be interested in that?

Mark H.

They're really going after music sharing lately. I would avoid that risk. You could face civil and criminal penalties if they decide to come after you. In some cases, the music industry is seeking permission to damage a music sharer's computer. It would be a stupid thing to get screwed up over this just because you wanted to be a "nice" guy.

I've tried books and tapes, but I've made the most gains in my ability to understand spoken Russian and to speak Russian using the Pimsleur program. I like the pace that I've learned new skills, but I especially like the reinforcement of previous material that is part-and-parcel of the program. It is pricey, but worth it in my mind. I found the best prices at BigRedGarage.com.

I found them very good when suplimented with other books. I need to be able to see the words as well as hear them. The only thing I found that helped more was my incredibly intensive 2 weeks of Russian lessons at a university in Vladivostok this spring.

You can download a "lite" version of Kaaza minus the spyware. That's what I have. The URL I found it at is

Mine doesn't do that. I'm no expert so I don't know what would be different. The program I'm using is only on when I want to to be on. I've got a very slow internet connection and if I'm downloading it takes forever to open a page. So I only run it when I want something.
