Spoke to the INS today

Apparently, there was an internal audit being done all last week.

The agents were still working on the cases, but the computer was not being updated. (Which means that the automated messages were not being update, either)

The woman I spoke to said we can expect a rash of application updates in the next couple of days.

It is a annual event at the beginning of the fiscal year (Oct 1, xxxx).  Supposedly the paperwork is all frozen on the desk or slot for the audit week.  It doesn't slow the overall process though, just the reporting of approvals and the sending of the letters showing approvals/receipts out.
