I just thought that I'd test the system.  I entered a case number that was approved Dec. 3, 2001.  The status that it gave......that the application had been received on Oct. 24, 2001.  It gave no indication that the petition had been approved.

At least for this one case, it is definitely not up to date.  Just my observation...

Ours was approved on Nov 6, 2001 and was correctly noted in the online INS system as I checked the operation of the web site.  Too bad if it's actually 10 months behind as messaged by Don P. -- that's ridiculous!

When I put in my case information it returns the EXACT wording that was on the automated telephone message for my case.

If they update it every day, then this is a real find. No long distance phone call, and no waiting through endless busy signals just to check the status of your case...

Thanks!

I went through the Nebraska service center and had problems getting through to a real person so what I did one day was called 15 minutes before they opened and once I started hearing the recordings I would hit the proper number to listen to the recorded message over again and again and again until they opened for business and got to talk to a real human! Sure I paid more for the long distance call but I got what I wanted.
Good luck with this
