Aussies out there?

Hello all,
I'm wondering if there's any Aussies out there who could share their experiences with me.
I'm a new member and have read/searched most of the archives. I've been looking for a RW since April, and have finally narrowed my search down to three girls - one in Russia and the other two in Ukraine. I've planned my trip for the end of October. I'd appreciate any experience in initiating a fiancee visa process in Australia, things I will need, things to look out for and be aware of, anything that can possibly help, waiting periods, also, is there an Aus embassy in Kiev? I've read whatever docs I could get from the immigration and still clueless on many things.

Hi ID,
You can e-mail me - I may be of some help in terms of information about fiancee visa application, what forms and documents are required etc.
My now wife has been here since December last year - and we went through the whole process.
It took us just over six months, but the time obviously varies from case to case.
There is no Australian Embassy in Kiev - all paperwork and other immigration matters are being dealt with at the Embassy in Moscow.
There is an Aus consulate in Kiev but they have generally stopped dealing with any visa issues.
They may still hold interviews in Kiev (once in a three months or so)- but they may not any more ( I have no current information about it - my then fiance - also from Ukraine - went for her interview to Moscow it was late last year).

There were a few Aussies who used to stop by.  Mick comes to mind, Greanpeace might be another.  Try a forum search by author to see what comes up.
