Just an update for those interested..
I am sorry if this is bad news for anyone, but it is the new process. Don't blame me, I am only posting what I know.
This may not effect you now, but it will soon. Because of the new "Administrative Process" being installed in all the Embassy's visa units. We who are waiting on Moscow, got stuck being the first to have to go through the new process. We are the ones "testing" the new system, and had our "Admin. Review" after our interview, because Moscow was the first Embassy to have the new process in place. They have scheduled very few interviews now, because the "Admin. Review" will be done before an inteview is scheduled. There are currently 28 interviews scheduled between Sept 19 thru Nov. 12 (yes, one month). This means there will be more time to wait between when you get your Second NOA until your interview is actually scheduled. Noone can give an exact time of how long that wait will be, because the process is so new. In a recent news article, it was stated that there are currently 25,000 visa's (not just K-1) waiting to go through the new process.
Here is what I know about Moscow.
They stopped issueing Visa's July 22nd in Moscow.
Each week the consulate has basically said to call back next week, or in two weeks. It is now 8.5 weeks since a K-1 (and some other visa's) has been issued from Moscow. Not ALL visa's are being put on hold at this time.
There are now MANY "grass roots" movements going on to try to help. Many message boards trying to post any new info. Even one new website www.freethefiancees.com
Maybe people are E-mailing media, politians, and anyone else we can think to talk to or E-mail.
There are talks now of having protest marches on Moscow and/or Washington. Even some rumors about trying to Sue (somebody) about this.
Rumors are that visas's will start to be issued again 2 weeks after September 11 (that is about September 25).
Other Rumors are that visa's will be issued starting Mid-October.
So many people are tired of the rumors, so everyone is just waiting for someone to actually get a visa "in hand".
I hope this helps.
My best regards to all,
Dennis (who has been waiting since July 31)
