There were about 3 or 4 people from Texas!  One was from Dallas and one from Austin, didn't catch what city the other/others were from.

WHAT WERE THE PRODUCERS THINKING!! LOL!  ;-)  Just couldn't resist!

That you actually watch that crap, or that you would actually tell everyone you do!

Man! You gotta be one screwed up puppy to do either!

I do not watch it since I am busy every Thursday night, but I enjoyed the first season when it was on a different night.

What is your beef with the show?

... in response to Whats wrong with 'Survivor'?, posted by MNKenr on Sep 20, 2002

...kiddin me. It's typical of the POX network. Right up there with Jerry Springer, Who wants to marry a millionare, Bimbos in Alaska, Rikki Lake, on and on. POX started this nonsense and the others followed, that alone should be enough to boycott it.

The first one might have been novel, to beat it to death is ludicrous. Its simply exploitaion of the dumbest kind, aimed at and appealing to the lowest common denominator of the populace.

People whine about TV but its just a mirror of society. In the end they can't really be blamed because they're only giving us what we want. Meanwhile, programming like PBS goes begging.

No offense but pray tell, what possible entertainment value do you personally derive from these shows? Escape? Fantasy? Enlightenement? Is your spare time so meaningless that you can piss it away on this?

I guess I never really bothered trying to judge someone by the type of television they watch. I guess I look at other traits. The importance I place on the viewing habits of another is very low. Maybe once in a while a person wants to just veg out while watching Sheena, or is it Zena?

However it woudl surprise, and dissapoint me to learn that a person will look down on me because one hour of the 5 hours a week of television watching I do was spent on a certain network, or program.

Oh well, to each his own.

I too pray tell must admit to enjoy watching the TV program Survivors. It is one of the few shows I will try to make time to catch each week. Although it is too bad LP see's a totally different side to what I consider an enjoyable show, I do agree with him totally about the mentality of those who can watch more than 10 minutes of the Springer show.

I really don't know how anyone could put Survivors and Jerry Springer in the same group though, to me there as different as apples are to oranges, or Russian women are to American women.

....Its all the same to me. The sameness is that they drive the lowest common denominator viewing public into forcing the networks to duplicate them, like flies on sheet.

Survivor is a slicked up version of Springer, albeit not quite as bad. The perverse enjoyment of watching other people's misery baffles me. Yes, there are more moronic shows than it but it's all the same. But hey, like the man said, to each his own.

What kicks do you get from this? Looking at the T & A? Seeing people scheme and deceive each other solely to win a prize? I don't get it. Besides, as I said, one was novel. For the networks to keep puking this stuff up only illustrates the kind of brain dead society we've become.

Being the Chattering Cyclops and Omni-directional Sludge Pump that it is, network TV will never get any respect and, in most cases, rightly so.

Now, just don't get me started on your local news program ;-)

I once saw a person up on a box in Circus Circus.
He was outside of a restaurant that had employed him. He was inveigling the passers by with how the owner was so unfair because, while he had accepted the job at the wages offered, the owner would not now pay him what he asked for.
I asked him if he knew what the wage scale was when he accepted the job – he answered in the affirmative.
I told him he had his head up his ‘ask-me-no questions’ and turned to those around and said “I’m not hungry, but I believe the owner is due some support” and proceeded into the restaurant – about a half-dozen others followed me.
When I left, the dude on the box had moved on.
That ain’t gonna work here!!!!!

The fact you won't admit that is not at all surprising.

..."Blood in the water" lol...now thats actually a tad clever, my compliments. Coming from me, thats saying something.

Why can't you skip the usual infantile stuff and do as well the rest of the time? You really can be a weenie ya know. Bigger than most I've seen, and I've seen the best. The cheap shot at Ken was outta line. (Not often I agree with the PansyMan, eh?)

Btw, the defender of the faith has aways to go before I sleep.

Now lighten up and settle down. The fact that you're even replying to me means I'm laying down on the job.

But LP, speaking of "weenies", I would say that you have defended that title a few times yourself if I recall.  If honest, I think you would have to agree! ;-) We all have our moments..
