Ok, where does everyone stay in Manila? I have spent a couple of nights at the midtown, and was marginally satisfied. However, at $30 a night maybe there is a better one, or cheaper? All input welcome.

I fly out of Seattle on the 5th of march, so far away!  Smiley

  About Manila hotels,

This is my first real stay in Manila and I chickened out and booked the Manila Galleria Suites for $83 dollars a night. Luckly I'm putting the bill on my credit card. ( At least till I get back and start making payments.)
For sight seeing I plan to go to Corregidor with Nancy. I'm a WW2 military buff so I hope not to get a little weapy during the tour.
I'll be in the hotel from March 7th till March 11th??? Or when ever the Super Ferry leaves for Surigao.
Anyone there give me a call and we can meet at Robinson's mall.

 Take care all,

 Surigao Ken

 P.S.
Hey Ray, ever go to mass in Surigao? The old open aired   Catholic church. I'll be going again. So how do you cross yourself? Is it; north, south then east, west?

Hi Ken!

Yeah, I think that’s right. I usually went to San Nicolas De Tolentino Cathedral. That’s the big one across the street from Rizal Park. Not sure which open air church you mean. Are you allowed to fart in the open-air church? I guess they are all semi-open air.

I used to get a kick out of the dogs sleeping in the aisle. Nobody seems to mind, they just step over them. Then you have all the birds flying in and out and chirping up a storm. Did you ever see another foreign dude in church when you went? I never did. It’s tough when you are a foot and a half taller than everyone else and you need to pick your nose.

If you are in Cebu and you have the chance, make sure you visit the Basilica Del Santo Nino. That’s a must for Cebu!

Larry, if you're willing to upgrade to $40-50 per night you can stay at the Aloha Hotel on Roxas Blvd.  From the balcony you can see a stunning sunset on Manila Bay.

Hi Jim,

For $40-50 per night, that view better include a stunning moon from Maria Fe! Woops Sorry! This Gabriela thing has made me a little crazy...just trying to live up to their expectations. ;o)))

I stayed at Palm Plaza....Los Palmas....and Hotel Frendy.

I think Hotel Frendy was by far more satisfactory.  They had a bigger room.  The rate was P1200 per night when I was there in April, 2000.

Shadow....how long will you be there?  Tess goes to Manila on 3-18 and I will fly to join her on 4-5.

Have a good trip.
