Go to your county court house get a statement from them stating that there is no record of marrige where you live.
I had to have this before I could marry in the philippines in 1996 to my now Ex-wife. I think it was called Statement of non marriage or something like that...

Hum,

I don't know about the law in 1996, but the only thing they will accept for a marriage license in the Phils when a foreigner is involved has to come from the foreign embassy in the Philippines.

Correct netiquette: typing in ALL CAPS is the equivalent of speaking very loud.  Use lower case.

Okay, proof that you are not already married.  Does your medical ot life insurance policy list you as single?  Are your parents or siblings listed as beneficiaries on any policies?  Do you work for a company that requires you to list personal info such as next-of-kin?  Did you file singly on your taxes last year?  All of these could provide circumstantial evidence of a non-married status.

James,

You cannot prove you are single. Which country are you going to be married in?

If you are going to the Philippines, then you will need to execute an ‘Affidavit of Legal Capacity to Marry’. You must get the affidavit in person at one of the U.S. Consulates in the Philippines. Read this:

Here is more info on marriage in the Philippines:
