I keep trying to tell her that a St Bernard living in the house will leave hair everywhere and slobber on everything.  She still want Beethoven.

Hi Bear,

The slobber and hair will drive you nuts! Some of mine had what is called a "dry mouth." There's no such thing! You also have to train them well when they are young, or else it may be difficult to get them to do what you want when they are big (150+ lbs). My big one would sometimes jump my fence or swim away across my lake after ducks and sailboats. They would pull the kids out of the lake or swimming pool thinking they were in danger. Mine were all 185+ lbs with several in the mid 200's. I also had an apricot brindle female mastiff that was 185 lbs. She slobbered too. I had Rottweilers for a while too and always thought they were cute little dogs. LOL  St. Bernards are great dogs if you have the room and don't mind drool and hair on everything. Sadly they don't usually live long. Better to buy her a stuffed Beethoven.

Hi Kevin,

The ducks were quick, but the big dog had a little help from high protein "rocket power." ;o)) He never hurt them, just liked to swim out and see what all of the quacking was about. ;o))
