Passports cost $65 min...application for visa $75 minimum in money orders. You send off for your visa (like I did) and you never see your passport again (like what happened to me)...the consulate cashes out the money orders...dosvidanya passport...what can you do? Believe me it happens. Make somebody pay.

It took a couple weeks for me to get my visa. In the application they will ask for your dates of arrival and departure. However, I would give yourself a month just to be sure.

Do not make the mistake that I made and assume that they transfer the correct dates to you visa. Check it yourself. They put a wrong date on my visa which resulted in me being in Russia illegally. I was pulled off to a little room, interrogated and fined.
