Congrats,Miss Russia...or rather..."MISS UNIVERSE"
Now thats what I call true "BEAUTY"...
If everyone could only know all the traditions and culture that is bundled together with all that beauty...
Perhaps now fewer people will ask me why I fell in love with a RW and married one...
Tell me you wouldn't travel 7000 miles to hand with her and I'll call you straight out "crazy"...

Rick,
I read your post before we watched the show out here on the west coast.  I told my wife that Miss Russia would win, but that the title of Miss Universe would be given to Miss Canada anyway.  LOL.  Lena told me that Miss Russia's answer to the last question was much different than what the interpreter said.  The question was, "what makes you blush?"  The interpreter said something to the effect that she blushes when she says something that turns out to be untrue.  The real answer she gave was "when I get caught lying".  LOL.

Bill,
As I couldn't remember exactly what the interpreter said, I paraphrased it.  "When I say wrong things" was the interpretation given, when actually she said, "when I lie".

Very Interesting, maybe the interpreter caught what she was saying and thought it would not be in Ms. Russia's best interest to say exactly what the new Ms. Universe really said.

I did not see the competiton but my wife did and said she was very beautiful.

I  totally agree.  When Oxana floated across that stage, a true vision of beauty, I was confident that she would win.

I usually think that the Miss Universe contest is a foolish waste of time but I am glad that I did not miss this one.  It was a super testament to the fact that the most beautiful women reside in the FSU.

Also did you catch a glimpse of Miss Ukraine in her native costume?  I was hoping that she would also make the final ten.

I wish the ladies well.

Anybody know what agency they are with or their telephone numbers or e-mail addresses?
