My bunny is in Czech Republic right now doing business trip.

Now I can cook my favorite filipino food.  This morning I went to Asian store and bought some salted fish (bagoong).  I grab the chance to cook this while he is not here, he doesn't like the smell of salted fish.  Right now I feel like I'm in the Philippines cooking my favorite filipino foods. :-o))

We had daing na bangus for breakfast this morning. While I was frying Stephen open the windows & door of our apartment. He keeps on asking me how much longer will I cook. LOL.

He stayed outside the whole time I was frying. I told him he needs to get use to it.

Tess

PS: thanks for the pictures, I got it yesterday.

Tess, now I know what to do next time when I get mad to Jim I just cook salted fish so that he stay outside. LOL.

Daing na bangus? Oh thats my favorite fish but I couldn't find any here in Asian store.  Actually here in Massachusetts there is only one small Filipino Store and quite far away from my place atleast 50 minutes drive.  Mostly close to my place are Cambodian Store and they also sell some Philippines products.

Did you like those pictures?

Mariko is lucky. I love the smell of her cooking fishy things. I remember the look in Stephen's face when I told him we were taking you guys out for sushi. Now THAT was funny. Shocked)

Sally,
Just remember to burn lots of candles to kill the fish smell before Jim gets home!  When I come home and candles are everywhere I know what was for lunch.  Smiley

Czech Republic?   Wow, that's quite a long trip.   I'm not going to complain about my trips anymore.   Have fun.

Hi SteveG,thanks for your post at least I have idea now that I need to burn lots of candle everytime I fry my dried anchovy fish.I try frying dried fish here one time when my hubby  arrived he  ask me why the house really stinky then he found out I'm frying dried fish.He say like this"my love what the hell is that, its so stinky smell like rotten chicken.I was really offended and throw the dried fish away and I cry and cry. After that incidents I never cook dried fish anymore.Good thing our nieghbor too far from us.

Feb,

If you don't have an electric frying pan, buy one. You can plug it in outside in the patio or porch with an extension cord and cook all the dried fish you want without stinking up the house. The wind will just blow it away to your neighbors, no matter how far away they are. Just remember to close the windows while you're cooking :-)

A happy Filipina is a Filipina eating crispy fried dried fish or squid.

Raquel,
Hey, you should never stop cooking something you like so much.   I bet your husband even enjoys teasing you about it and misses you cooking it!

The candles do work pretty good if you allow enough time after cooking before someone arrives.
