Hello again all.
Just thought I would chime in and tell you all about my experience down in Dallas.
I left on April, 5th and left this afternoon on April, 9th. Since I live in Lexington, KY. it really would not have made much sense to drive down so me and my wife caught a flight down and stayed with Jack during this time. I was glad that I had the opportunity to attend the annual B.A.R. (BBQ for the Appriciation of Russian women).
The weather could have been much better but the company was really great. It was great to meet other couples such as ourselves and even just some other guys who were just interested. I think everyone had a great time and the food was really good.
As Richard had posted earlier (Hello there Richard!) I met BarryM, Fred, (who I understand posts on another board) and of course Jack. I did indeed check their ID to see that this was their name and could tell from their conversations that they were who they said they were and take it from me that these are definitely not the same person although that topic doesn't hold any specific interest for me.
One interesting thing is that I actually knew about Fred prior to the picnic but it did not hit home who he was until I actually met him at the BBQ. It was really great to meet him and his wife, because he was one of the reasons I decided to look overseas for a wife to begin with. (I wish I could go more into detail about that but for my own reasons I cannot) but still it was really great to meet him in person.
I had a great time there and look forward to doing the same thing next year. Last night Jack and his wife and me and my wife and another friend of Jack and his wife all went out and had dinner at this spinning restaurant at the top of this tower right there in Dallas and it was really a wonderful time and it was just a fantastic time and the view was so great as we were there during sunset to see the sun go down and the lights of Dallas come up. Really something to see.
Well, now I am back home and getting ready to go to work soon. Got to earn that money so I can try to go back to Ukraine in the fall for an Orthodox wedding in my wife's home city of Odessa. Luckily, she just found a job that she will be starting soon which will definitely help out with our expenses.
Good luck to all, Jim
