Thanks for  the input on the statement of intent guys. Seems like its split pretty even down the middle. She mailed that letter several weeks ago already, sometimes it takes 6 weeks for here letters to get here from Leyte, so I guess you can figure out what I'm going to do hehe...
I found some great links in my searchs, ill have to post them , they are really helpful for beginners, one was the NBI website listing addresses of all the regional offices and another one was the CFO website, it has the addresses and hours of the CFO offices in Manila and Cebu.
Jimbo, its kind of a funny story about what brought about my change of heart.
I guess since I'm new to this marriage thing I finally came to realize that one can keep chasing a dream forever, and when you obtain what you are looking for you end up raising the bar just a little more, wanting something even more out of your reach, never happy, never content, always searching and always dreaming .
Heres what triggered it.
There was a young black guy that worked for me as a temp  this season one day, he was an IT student, who had been in the service in the Philippines a few years back.
We got to talking and he described one night how he and his buddy were walking into a club with what they thought were the 4 hottest girls in town on their arms, when once they got inside they saw the girls there were even hotter! Then it really dawned on me, the grass REALLY IS always greener on the other side of the fence!
When I was there in the Philippines with her (my fiancee), I was always bored, because I was always looking at the other girls that were prettier, had shinier hair etc. etc....
I realized that here in Minnesota, she will be the hottest girl in the world to me, not only for her looks and body, but her cute smile, her sense of humor, her undying loyalty, her integrity, and a whole bunch of other stuff I was too blind to see because I was so busy staring at other girls. Now I have come to realize that marriage wont be perfect all the time, and there will be tough times, I guess thats just what its all about. Something between us JUST PLAIN WORKS. I am glad it took almost 3 years, and 3 trips, and lots of other girlfriends over there, because now I finally realize what I have. Its a feeling that you have found the right person for you, a feeling I thought I would never have.
And everyone will get there, it just takes time. Sometimes the perfect person for you is right under your nose.....

Mog, that's great, "...now I finally realize what I have."  I guess when you leave home, the grass at home looks greener too.

With the time and effort spent over 3 years on 3 trips, seeing her sense of humor, loyalty, and integrity, you really got a look into the character of the lady.  Thanks very much for your candid thoughts.

Congratulations and Best of Luck,
Jim

Hey Jim,

I missed that one. Did you notice my reference to Sinatra?

"That's Life"

That's life, that's what people say.
You're riding' high in April,
Shot down in May.
But I know I'm gonna change that tune,
When I'm back on top in June.

That's life, funny as it seems.
Some people get their kicks,
Steppin' on dreams;
But I don't let it get me down,
'Cause this ol' word keeps getting around.

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
And I know one thing:
Each time I find myself flat on my face,
I pick myself up and get back in the race.

That's life, I can't deny it,
I thought of quitting,
But my heart just won't buy it.
If I didn't think it was worth a try,
I'd roll myself up in a big ball and die.

Actually, a few years ago, while driving on my way to work, I heard somebody doing a spoof about Hilary Clinton to that tune.

Hey Jim,

Let's not mention any songs from Steely Dan! ;o))

"The Royal Scam"

Kid Charlemagne, The Caves of Altamira, Don't Take Me Alive,
Sign in Stranger, The Fez, Green Earrings, Haitian Divorce,
Everything You Did, The Royal Scam

I'm sure Kevin can top that with a few Mr. Methane classics. ;o)) I'm expecting that good things will be coming from Kevin soon...and I don't mean by way of his lower pressure relief valve. ;o)))

It's great to hear that things are going well for Humabdos and Sallie May...Sallie (Sally), nice name! ;o) Hum in love...will he ever be the same. ;o)) We're sure going to miss the old Hum. ;o)))

Hey Jay,

A "Jay post" is real life, truthful, hard hitting, from the gut, and doesn't make any apologies for not being politically correct...sometimes it makes you laugh, sometimes makes you cry, and sometimes makes you run and hide and pretend you don't know that Jay guy. ;o)))))

I'm on your turf almost every day. Tell the boss to give you a night off or bring him along. ;o))

Hey Mog,

As soon as my wife slipped that little gold ring on my finger...I started to get a lot more attention from "hot" women. But, I'm no dummy...I know how lucky I am to have her! (She's the hottest and sweetest to me!) Besides, I don't want to get stuck watering and mowing all of that grass on the other side of the fence...too many weeds. ;o))

Your future wife will be the only one with a beautiful tan during those frozen Minnesota winters. My wife gets a kick out of the way I "glow" in the dark...so much for working on my tan.

Good Luck!

You touched on a point there Mog that I think deserves amplification, and one I'm not sure most single guys really get: true, lasting love depends far more on what you do after you're married than it does on how many butterflies she causes in your stomach on your first date. How much scarifice & comittment for each other you're willing to invest, these are the things that make the marriage great after ten, twenty or more years later. Lust is good, but the maturity to feel you two "just plain work" together is a great place to start. Best of luck to you two.
