For what it's worth...

Find yourself a filipino lawyer here in the states that deals with immigration.  Not an american... but a real filipino.  Let him/her deal with any lawyer issues overseas so at least you've got some kind of a realistic "go between", and hopefully you won't get raped (too badly that is).

Good Advice, the problem is that I don't trust Filipino Lawyers in America or RP. I still think your option is better than sending all that money directly to my Mahal. You know, a large amount of money is very tempting..They could buy land, new home, etc etc..instead of using it for it's purpose. Whatever additional sugguestions is appreciated. greg

Live for a short time, (vacation), shouldn't be a big deal for the cultural experience, but to de-americanize a kid?  Nope. Should never happen; unless of course, the kid(s), had both parents with them, and then that would be the natural order of things anyway.

This is something I feel, that should not be put into a "grey area", and bandied about like it was a pc thing.  It's either right, or wrong.... (to me anyway).

Hmm, then let's put the shoe on the other foot.  Would it be right for the (immigrant) pinay's to let their american husbands take their child to live in rp?  Of course it makes no sense.

that's really so sad.  I went through two early miscarriages with my ex many years ago, but to have one this far along.. I can't even imagine the anguish and despair that they have had to deal with...
