While you didn't point a lot of attention to it during some of your recent troubles when the wife finally came back. You did talk about how you brought up some of the things she wrote to you and you got the deer in the headlight look. You now know Mom wrote them and she didn't even bother to proof read them.
So you guys when you go and visit make sure to talk about those things in person, maybe more than once and make sure the answers are the same every time. This could be another red flag. What you chose to do with it is your business.
