... in response to Story... hmmm, posted by BrianN on Jan 9, 2002

Well Brian I am going to have to leave you alone now.  You let the cat out the bag.  I can not relate on this topic.  You fell from grace.  For a short while you had a little crusade going, but you fell hard and I am going to have to cut you loose.

Just kidding.

It is refreshing to see someone who can accept responsibility for the problems they contributed to a failed marriage or relationship.  I think this is vital step in learning how not to repeat the same mistake again.  Hats off to you and Howard who recently had a failed marriage.  In Howard's case, I do not think he contributed much if any problems.  I think his down fall came from that fact that he overlooked few things that appeared insignificant at the time, but turn out to be major issues in the end.  It is something we all have been guilty of doing at some point in our lifetime.  It just turns out that the odds are in favor some and not in favor others.  I think people that fall in the latter catagory just have to use more scutiny in choosing a spouse.  I think I fall in this catagory.

Take care and keep' em coming.

Only thing is... the former ex actually grew up and apologized to her and her.. 15 years later for being such an immature "D-Head" all of his prior years.

I don't hold any old guilt for my actions, the least that I did, was provide safe harbor for someone that was indeed in big trouble, under fear of "deportation".  (ya shoulda seen the knife holes in the bathroom door and the bruises...) Shortly afterwards, she became an american citizen, along with her daughter, my oldest step-daughter, who is now 28.

And I hear that once you're divorced, that step-kids aren't step-kids anymore?  Yeah right.

Mine is the closest to me, and we've been divorced for 4 years now, following a separation that was about 4 years also.

I fell on a sword, partly for my own emotional gain, and to be a hero to her.

Well, the sword worked.

God works in mysterious ways.

I wouldn't change anything.

Toughest question in the book.  Can't answer on the board, but I can definitely make my ex laugh like crazy considering everything that's past us now...

(Laugh like a wild woman too! lol).
