Visa SUCESSS FINALLY

Hello all, Christine in Cebu Finally received her US VISA today 12-28-01 Friday (PI time).
Delivered by Delbros.

Quick Timeline:
We were married in Cebu on 10-24-2000
I-130 filed through NSC on 1-24-2001
K-3 applied for on 6-5-2001
INS approved I-130 on  6-9-2001
K-3 approved 10-24-2001 ( too late since I-130
already further along)
NVC approves 10-15-2001
US Embassy Manila Interview 12-13-2001

**VISA RECEIVED 12-28-2001**

So around 11 months from start of I-130 to Receipt. Funny are age difference is exactly
11 years, 11 months and 11 days....I'm the older one.

Sorry Bear I thought I had you  and honey in there.
Actually I just related the story to Christine before she got her visa that even if
Delbros says they have something it might not neccessarilly be the visa.( from Honey's lesson)
Good thing it was though.

Acutally I seeked out NO help from any congress person or lawyer...(except Stephen)
and things went smoothly they never asked for more information or clarification just
11 months of waiting.

Go find a "nice" rice dispenser... if you've been in the oriental stores, they look like small "rounded edge and square" trash cans with a dispenser thing on the bottom.  Don't be cheap on this.  (And throw out anything with the name "mahatma" or quick and dirty rice bag on it, that exists in your cabinet).

I don't know where you live, but be sure that you know exactly where the asian food stores are; (helps to alleviate culture shock).

Then, go find a set of "4 seasons", (I don't know what they're called in asian vernacular - maybe someone experienced can help with this), basically they're like 4 long asian plaques that are like pictures that represent the 4 seasons.  Then, wait until she arrives to let her hang them up on the wall, using her own preference.  (This can be a very fulfilling event - when she arrives, let her open them as if they were presents).

Even better, go out shopping for them, and let her choose what she likes.  This can be just as difficult as shopping for an engagement ring.

Your attentiveness to this will go a long way, and sometimes, these simple things can seem to have as much cultural and emotional value as the ring on her finger.
