Mary Clancy goes up to Father O'Grady after his Sunday morning service, and she's in tears. He says, "So what's bothering you, dear?"

She says, "Oh, Father, I've got terrible news. My husband passed away last night."

The priest says, "Oh, Mary, that's terrible. Tell me, Mary, did he have any last requests?"

She says, "That he did, Father..."

The priest says, "What did he ask, Mary?"

She says, "He said, 'Please, Mary, put down that gun...

Change the name name Mary to "George". Is the joke still funny? Why does our society accept violence directed towards men as humerous but god help you if say anything that is considered anti-woman. Personally I'm not anti-woman, anti-American woman, or (do I dare say this on this board?) even anti-femenist. I think the popular culture overall tends to view men negatively. Maybe I'm just more sensative because I have a son.
   I still like to laugh and I did enjoy the joke.   Bill
