i need a notarized letter from an american citizen friend of mine who is living in bogota. if the office that is requesting this letter here in the US says that it needs to be notarized before he sends it to me should my friend go to a notaria or the american embassy? will a document notarized  by  a colombian notary be legal here? if not, is there a notary available at the american embassy or somewhere else in bogotá  that would be the equivalent to getting it notarized here?

takes it.

I have used a notary in Bogotá and sent the item to the USA with no problems.

Remember, you just don't pop in off the street-the offices will be crowded.
