In a recent travel warning (which apparently I missed when it came out) the U.S. State Department proclaimed Cali to be Colombia's most dangerous city and urged U.S. citizens not to travel there. Needless to say, the local equivlents of the Chamber of Commerce and Board of Tourism et al. are not happy about that.

Well, I certainly hope my calena soul mate isn't waiting for me in Cali, since the calena I'm married to has been in Dallas for almost two years (see profile). Besides, I wasn't trying to scare people out of going, the point I was attempting to make was that the C of C et al. are afraid they will loose business.
