Has anybody taken the flight out of Bogota into Manizales? I'm looking for any information that might make my trip easier. Also has any one had any problems with the alltitude in Bogota (9000 ft. or Manizales at 7000 ft)? The information I gathered states anything below 8000 ft you should be ok but I have read reports of alltitude problems in Manizales. Has anybody on the board been there lately? I have heard good things about the city and will be seeing someone special in my life there. There's little information about the place and I've read everything on the net that is available, I will be taking plenty of photographs and will post them on my return.

Take care

Anybody that I have talked to raves about Manizales. Apparently it is a beautiful little city with a nice climate - I would like to go there myself one day. I have been to Bogota a couple of times and I have not experienced any altitude problems.

Thanks cowboy. I heard the same thing about Manizales. Found a nice hotel for about $48 a night with a morning meal in the center of the city. Avianca flies a F50 into Manizales which is a turbo propeller. The airport has what looks like a launching ramp at the end of the runway. The place is in  a teacup surrounded by mountains, so I guess they need the lift to go airbourne. Have been to Cali many times but this is my first trip ouside of that city.
