The reason I asked: I have spent a lot of time in Bogota and originally came to this forum looking for information on Cali. After reading, searching, interacting on forum, etc. I have changed my emphasis and desire more to go to Medellin. I'd like to get in touch privately with you or anyone else living there prior to me visiting. Thanks.

When I first went in early 2003, gringos were few and far between. There might have been only a couple of gringos on an entire plane full of people from Miami. In my case I went to meet one particular woman so I'm not really a good example to follow. Of course back then I knew very little Spanish and hardly anything about Medellin or Colombia. You're a lucky man, Pablo, and I am sure you will meet someone who enchants you.

Hi Pete,

Are you aware of what your other friends paid Walter for his services, doing what you described? I am sure he has different options.  I have also written emails to Walter, but he quoted me a "Vip membership" price of $1200!  Ain't no ever lovin' way!!  I thought that you might have more insight on Walter, should I decide to use his services at some point in the future?   However, my ideas are on the "per cita" type concept, or maybe some hourly rate.  I just don't know if Walter would do it that way?  I realize those guys want to make money, but I am not interested in helping him to use my fees to retire on.   So, I just thought I would ask.  For me, it will be a good while before I am able to travel again.  But, I still like to consider my options before I travel. Take care.

I think his one year membership is $400.But you might be able to negotiate for the particular service you want.
I would advise anyone to talk to him about just what the service is they want and what the cost will be.My friend spends lots of time with him.I would immagine that would be more than the $400 but I don't know.
Prices in Cali tend to be  negotiable, depending on what each party expects.
And,for you he would be a good choice because you would get that extra help with things.

Pete
