Tx,

That is part of why I am confused about the female attention she was getting.  She dresses quite conservatively by Brazilian standards, and she is not a stunning knockout.

She doesn't show  a lot of cleavage in public and wears bras and tops that make her breasts seem smaller than they actually are.  She does not wears short skirts and the shorts she does wear are not so short that her butt falls out.  She does wear clothes that show and flatter her body.  The pants she wears are usually tight fitting enough to make no secret of the shape of her legs, hips, and behind.  She has a very feminine shape to her body.

She spends a good deal of time putting on make-up and styling her hair. She has made comments about American women's hair in that many seem to wear wigs and extensions.  My fiancee changes her hair style regularly and does wear extensions sometimes.  On this trip she did not.  She set her natural hair in curlers and blew dry / brushed it out into a nice style that was suitable for an office job.

My fiancee is far from unattractive and unsexy, but she is not in the same league as Beyonce and Halle in terms of physical attractiveness.

I suspect what these women were sensing is what we men go to LA to get; a woman comfortable with her femininity.  Once my fiancee puts on her image for the general public, she doesn't worry about it anymore.  There is a sense of confidence about herself as she goes about her life.  She is comfortable with what she is presenting to the world and is not worried about what others may think of it.  This is projected in how she carries herself.  I feel THAT is what so many AW were looking at or trying to figure out.  But this is only a guess on my part.

I have 2 teenage daughters (single parent) that I am trying to teach this very thing "a woman comfortable with her femininity" it is very difficult to do this with the US Selling Sexuality while preaching conservativism very confusing for me much less teenagers.  I have to allow for the discovery of female power with young men, while keeping them from getting drunk with power. Hope that makes sense... That statement "a woman comfortable with her femininity" is what attracts me to the LW so much.  My challenge is to show them that they can be comfortable within themselves, while not disrespecting those around them.

What you write makes perfect sense!  Psychologists have said that a girl's comfort level with her feminiity in our society mostly comes from her father's attitude towards sex and women.  They say part of the reason for teenage pregnancy and hypersexuality is the absence of fathers in single-mother homes.

I commend you for not shrinking from your daughters' very important needs and wish you great luck in raising them to adulthood.
