Doing some reconnaisance here to decide where to go on my next vacation so answer if you like. If someone were going to Cali for the first time, what part or parts of town would they be most comfortable staying in or hanging out in? I am looking at calivip or ACG as places to either use for citas or to stay at. I have heard you all talk about chip chape so I assume that is good. I speak some spanish and pretty street smart but for a first time there I dont want to do something stupid. I noticed ACG had a chipi chape mall address so what is up with that? So what are the neighborhoods like where vip and acg are located like? What about Hotel Intercontinental? Lastly, to those with experience, is it better IYO to stay at the hotel and then use the agencies for appts or to stay at the mansions?

I'm going to Cali again next week. I've always stayed at the Intercontinental
because
A It's very nice, in a pretty nice area
B 3 restaurants on site with more nearby and outdoor dining if you want
C I like to invite my girl's family to the pool and dinner or pizza
D there's always something going on at the hotel-good for people watching
E cabs always out front for Chipi or Blues Bros or wherever
F can change money in the hotel if necessary
G internet on site and business office
H casino
I BAR, and stocked mini bar in rooms
J exercise room w spa

it is a bit pricy.  I've never stayed at an agency, as I have never used one. I
don't really love the Chipi Chapi area, but most areas in the west are nice
